Language, Media, Power
Round Table Discussion
Sámi University College 10-11.4.2014
Follow by live stream
The scholarly and professional discussions on language and its relation to media; on media and its relation
to power; on power and its relation to language are current and common for all who are concerned with
indigenous people as well as linguistic minorities and their related cultures. The question goes beyond
language, media and power as such, and asks us to consider fundamental principles of presentation and
representation in all its forms.
The Sámi University College, together with Stockholm University and University of Helsinki invites you to
this round table discussion with participants from academic and professional life. The Round Table is
organized at the Sámi University College, Kautokeino. Participation is free upon pre-registration.
